— Dear Chris —

I wanted to tell you how much your work affected me. I was having a wander through the Auburn Gallery when I came around the corner and saw your pieces. The beauty of the work, the messages you chose, the vibrancy of the color, it all combined to unlock something in me that was ready to burst. I nearly started crying in the gallery (not really what I like doing in public) but there was some pain and fear that all exited in a hurry. The more I spent time looking at your pieces, the more that fear and pain was replaced with things much more pleasant. They were the perfect pieces to encounter at the perfect moment. I have found your website now and am looking forward to the time when I can afford to purchase something larger than a card. That day will come. In the meantime, thank you for offering this work to the rest of us. —Warm regards, Kristin

I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you in person, though I have been buying your works for several years. I have several of your prints hanging in my office, as well as a small collection of the post-card sized works.

Shortly after I’d made the decision to retire, my wife and I were in Auburn and we stopped by the gallery. We wandered to the area where your art work is displayed. After a few minutes, my wife silently handed me a poster and walked away. I read the words “begin and begin and begin again; begin any time, begin any where, begin any way; to begin is the thing; hold tight to your passion.” I did not begin to cry, because everyone knows that real-men do not cry. But my allergies did begin to give me significant problems for a few minutes! That poster is now framed and hanging on the wall in my office.

Thank you for sharing your creativity, and the words that inspire you. Perhaps one day you will be in Auburn at the same time my wife and I are, and I can thank you in person. —With warmest regards, Jim B

I have been meaning to write you ever since the Calligraphy Conference in Boston when I lucked out and bought your beautiful book at the auction. It just so happens that I cry whenever I hear this song and when I showed the book to my husband, he just had to sing it and of course, I had to cry.

And, I had to write to thank you for the pleasure of owning your art work and the joy it brings when I look at it or show it around. —Thanks, Angelamae A
